SHADY GROVE ROCK-A-THON

What is the Rock-A-Thon?
The Shady Grove PTA hosts the annual Rock-A-Thon every spring, to raise money for the Thomas B. Fernald Scholarship and our PTA. Thomas B. Fernald was the first prinicipal at Shady Grove Elementary and left a lasting legacy of enthusiastic leadership! All former SGES students who are graduating from high school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship have traditionally clocked in an impressive amount of community service hours during their middle school and high school years. They are very appreciative of the funds they receive from the Rock-A-Thon, which go towards their college education.
The Rock-A-Thon is a celebratory student event packed with photo booths (Two this year!!), face-painting/ tattoos, games, inflatables and a DJ- led dance party are just some of the fun activities. There will also be the ever-popular 'Own the Stage', a talent show that allows groups of five or more students to share their singing and dancing gifts with our school community.
When is the Rock-A-Thon?
The Rock-A-Thon celebration will be held Thursday, March 19th, 2020 at Shady Grove Elementary School.
Please note that participants must be pre-registered to attend this special event.
