SHADY GROVE CaRDNIVAL
What is the Cardnival?
The Shady Grove PTA hosts the annual Cardnival every spring to raise money for the Thomas B. Fernald Scholarship and our PTA. We invite all our Cardinal families and alumni to spend an evening playing carnival games, enjoying food trucks, and making memories with our amazing community.
Thomas B. Fernald was the first principal at Shady Grove Elementary and left a lasting legacy of enthusiastic leadership! All former SGES students who are graduating from high school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Recipients have traditionally logged an impressive number of impactful community service hours during middle and high school. They greatly appreciate the funds they receive from the Cardnival, which go toward their college education. In 2026, we awarded scholarships to 2 exceptional Cardinals.
