Hi Cardinal Families,
The Shady Grove PTA is excited to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! For those of you who are new to Shady Grove, you should know that you are about to join an incredibly energetic, supportive educational community. To our returning families, thank you for all that you have done to help create a special place for our children to grow and learn. We are all so fortunate to be able to spend these special years together!
The mission of the PTA is to strengthen our school and community and to advocate for resources that will contribute to the academic success, health, and well-being of our children. We all have so many demands for our time these days, but I urge you to consider a few simple ways to support the work of the PTA:
On behalf of the entire PTA Board, we are grateful for your support of our school and look forward to a wonderful school year!
Thank you,
Christina Van Epp

- Join the PTA today. Here’s the link. We have several membership levels, so choose the one that makes sense for your family. Your generosity to the PTA will support cultural arts & science programs, teacher resource funds, technology improvements, morning clubs, outdoor classroom supplies, PTA events, cleaning supplies, and other school resources. Remember that PTA memberships must be renewed each year!
- Attend our Events. We have lots of fun activities planned for our students and their families, including Cardinal Cultures Night, Trunk-or-Treat, Bingo Night, and Cardnival. These events will give you opportunities to meet other families, spend quality time with your kids, and interact with Shady Grove’s awesome faculty and staff. Be sure to add these important dates to your family calendar before the school year begins.
- Get Involved. While there is no volunteer requirement to be a member of the PTA, we would love for you to share your talents with our community. We can find a way that works for your busy schedule! If you are new to our community, volunteering at Shady Grove is the best way to meet your next best friend! And trust me, your student(s) will love seeing you get involved, too. You can find a list of volunteer opportunities here.
- Stay Informed. Follow the SGES PTA on Facebook and Instagram (@sgespta), read our bi-weekly PTA email blasts, and visit our website (www.sgespta.org).
On behalf of the entire PTA Board, we are grateful for your support of our school and look forward to a wonderful school year!
Thank you,
Christina Van Epp
